In 1500 BCE, Thirassia separated Santorini after a volcano erupted and separated the island. Thirassia is famous for the Monastery of the Assumption of the Virgin and its hot springs. Lore and legends lurk around every corner in Thirassia and if you want a truly unique holiday then this is your Greek Island.

Past the Halkidiki coast is the tiny island of Ammouliani. The primary town was constructed to be shaped like an amphitheater with a view over the water. At one point in history, the island was ruled by the Vatopedi Monastery with its unmissable architecture. You'll need your hiking boots, mosquito repellent, and a sense of adventure. A quick ferry ride from the main island of Paros is the sanctuary of Antiparos with tranquil beaches that are an easy walk from the island capital of Chora. If you want to dive into the underworld to see stalagmites and stalactites venture to Antiparos Cave.

The Greek God Poseidon is known for bringing his lovers to Paxoi. The tiny, remote island is south of Corfu. The beaches, sulfur thermal springs, and underwater caves are just a few of the attractions. If you make your way to Paxoi take the time to have a delicious coffee to watch the local fishermen bring in their catch.
