3 Overrated Tourist Attractions to Avoid on Your Next Trip

Most of us don't have the opportunity to travel around the world for months, so we need to prioritize the sights that are really worth going to. To save you time and money, we've listed some of the world's most overhyped locations, as well as suggestions on where to go instead.

Leaning Tower of Pisa, Italy

Leaning Tower of Pisa Italy

The city of Pisa has only one attraction to offer, and that's of course the infamous tower. Unfortunately, many find that the tower is rather small and unremarkable in real life and the area around it can be quite crowded. Once you take your tourist photo there's hardly anything to do in the small town of Pisa. Italy is a country that has a lot to offer — opt for marvelous destinations such as Rome, Sicily, Positano, or Tuscany instead.

Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia

Don't get us wrong — Bondi Beach is beautiful. However, even its biggest fan can't dispute that it gets extremely crowded and busy, especially in the summer months. It's quite expensive and relatively small, so we're not sure why it remains so popular with tourists. Try Coogee beach for a better beach experience in Sydney. Better yet, visit Perth or the Golden Coast for a much more enjoyable time by the ocean.

Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, California

Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles California

Every year, thousands of tourists flock to LA in hopes of running into a celebrity to have a great story to tell home! Many believe that the famous Hollywood Boulevard is the place to do so but sadly that's not the case. Locals know that virtually no celebrity ever sets foot there. The area is moreso flooded with tourist traps and mediocre attractions. Instead, take a movie studio tour, visit the Griffith Observatory, or simply lounge on one of the beautiful free beaches in LA.
